Bendigo Northern District Community Enterprise
This project originated from the foresight of the members of the Strauch Reserve Committee who identified the need for a community enterprise in the Huntly district.
The Bendigo Northern District Community Enterprise is a partnership with Bendigo Bank and Bendigo Community Telco which has been established and will be directed and managed by community minded people to assist the residents of Bendigo’s northern districts by:-
- Giving the people of our communities the power to make good ideas happen
- Directing money to projects and activities and facilities to support young people, families and the elderly
- Providing Community Spirit / Focus
- Put in order a small grants program to lend support to community organisations
- Actively involving itself in the continued growth and development of the community and to contribute to both the financial and overall well-being of all residents of White Hills / Epsom / Huntly and surrounding districts
BNDCE wants to be self-sustaining and to continually assist in the provision of community events and to provide a focus to facilitate the development of projects and needs of Bendigo’s Northern Districts.
To be more inclusive to people, organisations and businesses and to encompass communities within our district, it was decided to change our name from Happening Huntly to Bendigo Northern District Community Enterprise. The district includes the areas from in and around White Hills and Bendigo East, north to Goornong and beyond. The existing committee is comprised largely of Huntly people and we are hoping for new members to assist and broaden the representation of the committee. We look forward to clubs and groups nominating a member to join our dedicated team.
